June 2008: 5. GPEC in Munich  NEWS RELEASE

From the 3rd  to th 5th of June 2008 the General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference took place in Munich.

GPEC - General Police Equipment Exhibition & Conference is a closed specialised trade fair exclusively for members of authorities for the business with police equipment, security technology and services. This trade fair takes place every two years and  is unique in Central Europe.

The 5th GPEC was under the auspices of the Minister of State and Minister of the Interior, Mr Joachim Herman.

About 5900 trade visitors from 62 states informed themselves about news, technologies and trends concerning police and security equipment. The KB Impuls Group was one of 524 exhibitors from 28 countries at this fair.

Two trends become apparent at GPEC 2008: On the one hand the increasing integration of interior and exterior security and on the other hand the increasing international collaboration to solve  governmental and collaborative tasks of security.

The KB Impuls Group took part at this exhibtion with a large assortment of their products. The portfolio of the Group meets exactly the expectations of  the necessary demands of equipment for the actual and future scenarios of deployment concerning the abetment of terrorism and Homeland Security. In the interior zone of the exhibition area was the C & C Car based on the Touareg,  a fast  deployable network setup point  for special operations and a solution for backups of destroyed infrastructure of telecommunication, the main eye-catcher. The C & C Car has the capability to setup an independent and highly secured network within a few minutes. Therefore it is an essential mean of  command in cases of disaster.

Also the AMSGS (Automatic Mobile Satellite Ground Station), which was exposed on the exterior area of the fair, was a major point of interest for the numerous visitors of our stand as well. International military communication experts rank the KBI system as one of the most reliable system of its class. That was proved by long-time, successful Out of Area deployments of the system in hostile environments like Afghanistan, Kosovo and Congo and other areas to support our soldiers.

It is especially to mention that all opto-electronical devices of KB Impuls Optronics GmbH could have been represented at a fair for the first time. The highlight of our devices was the Laser Range Gating System “OCELOT”. “OCELOT” is able to recognise adverse counter-detection via optic systems as well as the detection of adverse snipers. Combined with the D1000-Surverillance-System for long distances there is the possibility for the operator to recognise in time threats and to prepare necessary counteractions.

Furhermore, the KBI Group has successfully represented the ITSMIG e.V. (IT Security made in Germany) at its stand as well.

We would like to thank Dr. Wehrstedt and his team of the EMW Exhibition & Marketing Wehrstedt GmbH for the long lasting and successful collaboration.

The KB Impuls Group would like to thank all visitors of our stand for their intereset and their positive feedback as well. If you have further questions to our products, we would advice you to send an e-mail to marketing@kbimpuls.com.

KBI Greece had its “baptism of fire” with the presentation at the Defendory. And at the end of the day they have done a really great job. Again, the main eye-catcher at the exhibition was the MCC (Mobile Command & Controlvehicle) based on the Touareg, our fast deployable network setup point for Special Operations. MCC has the capability to setup an independent and highly secured network within a few minutes. Broadcasting bi-directional data (radio, video, data) between frontline and Command & Control centers. Military experts and communication specialists from over 30 foreign countries were visiting the booth of KBI and got an impression on the state of the art R&D and production within our group of companies. The AMSGS (Automatic Mobile Satellite Ground Station) was a major point of interest as well. International military communication specialists rank the KBI system as one of the most reliable system in its class. The system is approved in operation in hostile environments like in Afghanistan, Kosovo and Congo.
